Doctor, Doctor Give Me The News...

OK, let me get a few things out that are bothering me right now.

First...Last nights Grey's Anatomy. I usually like this show, and can look past some of the cliche' writing and get into the story, but last night just pissed me off. Let's start with Izzie. Denny was a great character and it would have been fun to see him recover and have that element of "sick patient" taken away from him and Izzie's relationship. Because truthfully, that doctor and George have zero chemistry and I just can't seem to like her character at all. And that brings me to the pinnacle of my anger...McDreamy and Meredith...ENOUGH!!! That is so played I can't take it anymore. It took Niles nine seasons to get Daphne, and then it was done. It took Sam three seasons to get Diane, then it was done, ditto for Rebecca. McDreamy got Meredith right off and all this back and forth has grown tiresome. Put them together or split them up, but I swear to Christ I will stop watching if they keep yo-yoing this plotline. Also...I told Gabi last night...If Alex and Izzie get back together again, I am done with the show. Mark my words.

Second...Since when has "good" and "popular" meant the same thing? Yes, I am referring to music here. I will say this for the last time...because you sell millions of albums does not make you "good". If that was the case, Madonna would be one of the best musicians ever. I am sick of the argument that if you sell out concerts around the world you are somehow more talented than someone that fills a club. I will always look at major music acts the same way...lowest common denominator...which simply means that your music is so watered down and generic that a great majority of people can find commonality in it. That does not make you "good", just popular. Also, I don't care if my music "matters" in the corporate music machine. I don't care if the stuff on my IPOD is not hip with the Starbucks crowd. Music is art, and when it turns into a big business it just gets perverted. Take it or leave it, that's how I feel.

Third...The current situation with gas. There was no way I would have supported John Kerry last election. A multi-millionaire with more money than Bush and Cheney combined. He actually had almost half the country convinced that the best way to fix the country was to replace a multi millionaire with an even richer millionaire. That being said, it was no secret that Bush is from oil and if oil got to be an issue, Bush would do nothing. (notice all of the other millionaires in the senate and congress are also doing nothing). I was pretty much down on the mainstream media and the left with their "worst president ever" nonsense, simply because, the economy is more robust than it was under the previous administration, unemployment is lower and stocks are not over inflated. Bush's big blunder was/is Iraq, and by this failure, none of the good news is getting press. Where I sit stunned, is the the fact that Bush is willing to flush the good things he has done down the toilet by letting fuel prices get to where they are now. Is the plan to allow a mid-term shift go to the Democrats, have them pull their usual "tax everybody" plan and make it easy to defeat Hillary in '08? Why this political bullshit at the expense of the American people? There was a radio host (non-political) that once said..."Doesn't anybody find it strange that a person spends sometimes $15 Million to be elected to a $140K a year job?" You know...I agree. The under the table and after office bonuses must be unreal.

Rant Off...see you next time.

The thing that bothers me the most about GA finale is that they so carefully made certain that Meredeth didn't have sex with the vet. In real life she would have totally had sex with the vet, but because they want her to be all "pure" and not a "ho" doing the doc & the vet they made her hold off. (This is a woman who slept with George when she was sad) But no one seems to mind that the Doc just started sleeping with his wife again (i.e. the shower scene at the end of two shows ago)
I didn't expect that sort of double standard from a woman writer. Oh well.
I still love the show. :-)
