He fights the urge to run and kiss the chef...

For those of you not yet parents, let me warn you about something that you will not be prepared for. No matter how much pressure you handle daily, no matter what you have been through in your life. You will not believe how hard this affects you...watching your child suffer and not being able to do anything except to try and comfort him. Alex caught a stomach bug (Which Gabi and I got two days later) and it was a nasty one. It was his first experience with non stop vomiting and dry heaves and let me tell you I would have done anything to take the pain he was feeling away from him. Luckily the doctor we saw gave us some medicine that had him feeling better by the evening, but it took two doses and 7 hours to get a smile back on his face. It is truly a horrible experience.

My mother-in-law will be here Thursday, so Gabi and I will be chopped liver once she walks in the door. We may actually get to go out to a movie, or even, gasp, enjoy a meal!
