All My Lifes A Circle...

It is so funny how you can completely change everything and then land right back in the same place. When I started writing this blog about a year ago I was working for DMP and hating every minute of it. My first post was made from Las Vegas. Now I am with Precor and love it and am making this post from, you guessed it, Las Vegas. We are doing a dealer summit here to introduce our new lines for the next big selling season.

Vegas has been anything but a treat so far. Gabi was sick all week, Alex was sick on Saturday evening so he wanted to sleep with us. He tossed and turned and kept me up most of the night. By the time I got up at 5:30AM I had the sore throat and runny nose. I got to Vegas and was dragging pretty bad. I was not allowed to check in until 4:00PM and it was only 11:00AM. So I went upstairs and assisted commercial unloading their gear. I finished up our stuff at 6:30 and was happy to get a King room on the 28th floor. Happy that was, until about 9:00PM...

I noticed that across the hall people were preparing for some sort of party. I figured, Vegas, a few hours, some drinking and some loud music, but by 12:00AM or 1:00AM things would be over...I couldn't have been more wrong...it seems the room was a specialty room called The Palms Playroom. Feel free to look it up on the net www.palms.com . It is a room with a pole, pimp decor and a full on stereo system. It is made for batchelor and batchelorette parties. By 10:00 the party was in full swing and the walls were thumpin'. THIS WENT ON UNTIL 7:30 IN THE FUCKING MORNING!!! At 5:00 I finally got up and using the chairs, extra pillows and cushions, I used towels and knives from room service to pin them to my door. I turned it down from a "10" volume-wise to about a "6" and was able to survive until the party died at 7:30AM. I got up at1o:30AM and looked out into the hall. Vomit, broken bottles, garbage, food and cigarette butts as far as the eye could see. Some asshole actually vomited in the ice machine drain. It was a night from hell.

Anyhow...later in the day I got to go into the room becuase the maid had unlocked it. Here are some pictures of the aftermath. Sorry, they are phone pix and can't demonstrate the smell in the room.

The room is now empty and tonight I will sleep. Just a trivia note for you...I am on the 28th floor and at the end of the hall is the "Real World Suite" where they filmed MTV's Real World in 2002.

I will talk to everyone tomorrow...

Climb The Mountain With Your Fingertips...

OK, lets catch up.

First, in Alex news, Mr. Dream All Day has found another song he digs. It seems "Jimmy's Fantasy" from the awesome "Phaseshifter" CD from Redd Kross is our favorite after bath tune. Now, Dream All Day is still definitely a car favorite, Jimmy's MUST be played while we are drying off, putting on our P.J.'s.

The family went down to San Diego over the past week while I was in North and South Carolina. I must say it is very nice down there. Reasonable home prices, nice people and nice scenery. I have never been that big of a fan of the southern U.S. and some things about the place rankled me a bit...way too much religious stuff, NASCAR and the sticky climate, but I figure you have to take the good with the redneck just as I deal with the populus of white trash living just 5 scant miles from me here. Given a choice, I still prefer the West Coast.

*Note*
They are paying $2.55 a gallon over there and are bitching about it!

Speaking of the fam...It's funny how you take things for granted until they are missing from your life. My house is eeirly dead without Gabi, and the boy running around. I can't wait until they get home tonight. I have had to preoccupy my time with outside of the house stuff to avoid the quiet. Last week my friend Dave from Central Cali stayed with us over the weekend and helped me see Gabi and Alex off on Saturday night. He drilled on Sunday at Fort Lewis (He is going to Iraq, and to say I am not scared for him would be a lie. He has two boys about to graduate from High School and a new wife and step kids.) While he drilled I completely gutted and cleaned the garage and then TA-DA!!!! I set up my hockey table!!! It is like the Bubble Boys style table where you have movable guys that rotate and you can pass the puck from guy to guy to score goals. It is awesome!!! Sunday, I had dinner with Dave and saw him off...Sunday night was quiet, and I got to see the season finale of the Sopranos (which was mediocre at best) and then I went to sleep. Carrie took me to the airport on Monday morning and off I went to the Carolinas.

Last night, I had the neighbors over and we played some hockey and ate some pizza. We sat through all 3 hours + of King Kong. The Jackson remake is pretty damned good. I do recommend it.

Avoid "Hostel" great idea, bad execution. (no pun intended)

I have a few quick bits, which I will cover later!!!

Adios.
